Short DescriptionThe Medical Lab Technician Trainee is a training position preparing to gain ASCP certification after three years of full-time work under the supervision of a qualified director, supervisor, or technician in providing services of both a technical and non-technical nature in the laboratory services area. The Medical Technician Trainee is responsible for assuring that a given test system is operated following the laboratory’s procedure manual and that the applicable quality control requirements are met. Administrative and clerical duties will be required as necessary and must be flexible to meet the needs of the department. Upon completion of the trainee program, technicians will be eligible to sit for the MLT exam and will move into a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician position.
Experience Required Experience in a laboratory is preferred. Attention to detail, reference ranges, and clinical relevancy. Candidate must possess the ability to conduct testing accurately and timely with precision and knowledge of QC and QA methodologies.
