Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Lab Scientist II to join our Microbiology department. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in clinical laboratory testing and microbiological instrumentation. You’ll play a critical role in delivering accurate and timely results that support quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate specimen acceptability according to established criteria.Perform routine and complex testing procedures following departmental SOPs.Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.Make informed technical decisions and resolve testing-related issues.Prepare, test, and assess new reagents and controls.Accurately report test results in a timely manner.Conduct and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.Maintain inventory of bench supplies and assist with specimen processing as needed.Ensure a safe work environment and adhere to PPE protocols.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent per CLIA/State regulations.2–4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required.State Medical Technologist license may be required (dependent on location).ASCP or AMT certification preferred or required (based on local regulations).Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Proficiency with computers; experience with LIS is a plus.Must pass a standardized color vision screen.Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts as needed.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
