Description We are looking for a diligent and organized Medical Insurance Verifications Specialist to join our team at a growing Sub-Acute Care Center. This unique role requires a candidate with a special combination of administrative skills and direct experience in health care, particularly in the areas of authorizations and insurance verification. Responsibilities: + Verify patient insurance coverage, including validating benefits and eligibility, and ensure accurate data entry in our patient record system. + Process referrals, pre-authorizations, and pre-certifications for patients. + Coordinate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to obtain authorizations for patient treatment. + Communicate effectively and courteously with patients and their representatives, physicians, other hospital personnel, and insurance companies. + Manage and oversee administrative tasks and office operations to ensure the facility runs smoothly and efficiently. + Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information in compliance with health insurance portability and accountability act (HIPAA) regulations. + Assist with administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and filing paperwork. Requirements • Previous experience in insurance verification and obtaining authorizations within a healthcare setting is essential. • Proficiency in medical software and computer applications, such as Office Suite. • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups. • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. • Capability to multitask effectively and manage high-pressure situations. • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and medical terminology.
