Medical Director Algeria
**The opportunity:** We are seeking a dynamic Medical Director to lead the medical organization for Algeria and provide governance for all functions related to Medicine (Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance and Patient Safety, Regulatory Affairs). The Medical Director functions as an integral member of the local, regional and global organization having full responsibility of the region’s medical and regulatory budget.  The job holder has final responsibility for health care compliance in the affiliate and chairs the grants and donation committee. The Medical Director ensures that medical and regulatory functions for all Human Pharma products are aligned with local business priorities, laws and regulations as well as with regional and global strategies, in compliance with GCP (Good Clinical Practice), Corporate policies and guidelines and SOPs. Oversight of the OPU medical affairs strategic directions, integrated customer plans and operational execution. The Medical Director will be based in Algiers, Algeria and will report to the Head of Human Pharma Algeria with matrix reporting to the Regional Medical Director. **TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES** + Develop the medical affairs strategy aligned with the global/regional objectives, ensuring that medical input is maximized for strategy planning. + Ensure appropriate procedures are adopted for publications, launch readiness plans, pipeline planning, etc, whilst adhering to Boehringer Ingelheim’s compliance, international and local compliance and legislation rules in all areas of Medicine of the OPU. + Ensure GTM tools utilization and enhance digital initiatives, and quality of medical affairs activities. + Embrace patient centricity through patient organizations and the involvement of medical affairs in patient’s journey development. + Optimize medical operations and adherence to Medical Affairs KPIs. + Advocate for professional organisations and programs and ensure appropriate procedures are available to conduct PMS, IIIb/IV trials, EAP/IIS activities and external collaboration projects. + Support local regulatory strategies for successful product registration, maintenance and for local clinical operations strategy. + Ensure an adequate regional structure for Pharmacovigilance and Patient Safety is in place and that all internal and external obligations are adhered to. + Lead and coach the medical team while ensuring their continuous development, growth and optimal information exchange between the operating unit, regional and global Medicine teams. + Identify areas for continuous improvement and actively participate in business reviews, P&L exercise, LTF forecasts and patient based forecast exercises  **SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS** + Physician; MD + Minimum 5 years’ experience within Medical Affairs. PV and/or Regulatory Affairs and Commercial functions in a multi-national organization is a plus + Minimum 5 years’ experience of people management + Excellent interpersonal communication, and managerial skills. + Excellent analytical and critical decision-making skills to set business goals and drive excellence in execution. + Entrepreneurial, agile and creative. + Proficient in English and French.
