Medical Director, Precision Oncology (East Cost)

About the Job

The Medical Director, Precision Oncology, leverages advanced medical expertise in partnership with the Medical team on areas spanning external educational strategy, clinical development, commercial and biopharma initiatives, and product placement. The role provides internal strategy leadership and external ambassadorship for the most complex medical science and strategic oncology national commercial accounts. 

Key Responsibilities

Attend and present at FMI at key educational opportunities (e.g., grand rounds), as well as at meetings and conferences as an FMI representative. Contribute medical ambassadorship to current and emerging FMI partnerships across the Medical, Clinical and BioPharma customer segments. Design and deliver medical educational content to targeted external partners where advanced medical expertise is essential to FMI’s success. Partner with key medical opinion leaders in developing messaging, slide training, and speaker preparation related to precision oncology. Serve as cross functional subject matter expert to internal teams. Requires a minimum of 65% domestic travel and a commitment to frequent travel to FMI headquarters. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

M.D. specializing in oncology from one of the following disciplines: adult or pediatric medical oncology or hematology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, pathology 5+ years directly relevant experience in oncology Demonstrated ability to educate, engage and mentor medical stakeholders Strong track record of serving as a senior leader to diverse external audiences, including but not limited to: community oncology, academic institutions, research consortia, conferences and media Reasonable understanding of the oncology ecosystem, including a command of dynamics impacting precision medicine and genomic testing Requires a minimum of 65% domestic travel and a commitment to frequent travel to FMI headquarters

Preferred Qualifications

Prior work experience, either in the life sciences industry or in a clinical setting  Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully with multiple functions  Demonstrated ambassador experience  Strong oral, written, and presentation skills with a thorough understanding of current medical oncology practice and the willingness to learn new areas of oncology  Ability to interpret genomic, clinical, and efficacy data, including the strengths and weaknesses of study design and the applications of results to standard of care and clinical practice  Deep understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy  Commitment to values at FMI: passion, patients, innovation and collaboration 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Remote is $335,000 - $375,000 per year. The salary range is commensurate with FMI’s compensation practice and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for FMI benefits.
