The Medical Director GI Cancers is a key role within the US Oncology Medical Affairs organization. Reporting directly to the [Medical Head or Group Medical Lead], this position is accountable for the execution of Medical plans with either a specific or multiple indications within the gastrointestinal cancers portfolio, passionate about gastro-esophageal cancers and certain hepatocellular cancers. Our exciting portfolio and pipeline provide opportunities to lead/support indications in immune-oncology, ADCs, bi-specifics, and other assets, as well as work with alliance partners for certain indications.

What You’ll Do:Support Medical plan through coordinating the development of the iMap, execution of key projects, and tracking budget spendSupport the Launch Readiness Reviews (LRR) by coordinating and tracking pre-launch activities and ensuring the timely execution of the endorsed LRR planInfluence the Field Engagement plan by synthesizing field insights into actionable tactics, share with the business, and modify plans as necessaryExecute on all MALT (Medical Affairs Leadership Teams) directives as requestedSupport quarterly iMAP reviews at the Core Medical Team (CMT) in collaboration with the Medical LeadSupport the Promotional Materials Review Team (PMRT) by reviewing derivative contentProvide cross-functional coverage by supporting the medical lead on the CMT and lead WGs as appropriateResponsible for executing and monitoring KEEs/External engagement plans and follow-up to ensure maximum engagement and impactExecute effective Advisory Boards by independently setting meeting objectives, discussion guides, and managing communications with vendorsExecute Medical projects while staying within scope and budgetLead congress planning activities, insights gathering, communications, and partner with Field Leadership to ensure pull-through at the eventConduct evidence publication reviews and Medical Education Grants Office (MEGO) selectionFacilitates patient insight knowledge sharing by raising awareness about patient insight strategies and activities with regions, countries, and allied functionsHelps build patient insight capability by working closely with Medical Affairs colleagues on research alliance initiatives, capability development programs, and tools/technology initiativesResponsible for adhering to all required ethical and compliance standards as determined by the organization and/or market within the roleEssential Skills/Experience:Sophisticated Scientific Degree (MBBS, PharmD, PhD, or MD) or international equivalent3+ years of Medical Affairs experienceExperience in relationship and partner management (3P’S-Payer, Provider, and Patients)Project and relationship management experienceExperience with Evidence generation and clinical trial methodologyBusiness Insight Foundation knowledgeFinancial Management Foundation knowledgeMatrix team functionality specialistDesirable Skills/Experience:Doctorate degree, PharmD (MD or equivalent) with Oncology specialization or PhD in Sciences preferredHQ Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical industryUnderstanding of the latest technical, regulatory, policy, and real-world evidence-generation dimensionsBudget management experienceExperience delivering country medical affairs plans

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $193,282-$289,922. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
