Description We are looking for an experienced Medical Collections Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Valparaiso, Indiana. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in medical billing and collections to ensure timely and accurate processing of claims and payments. This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced systems and contribute to the financial health of a dynamic healthcare organization. Responsibilities: • Manage the end-to-end medical collections process, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding claims and payments. • Review and process claims using various EHR systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. • Utilize Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) to streamline data flow and improve collections efficiency. • Handle accounts receivable tasks, including tracking payments, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records. • Collaborate with insurance providers to process appeals and resolve claim denials effectively. • Perform billing functions with precision to ensure accurate invoicing and minimize errors. • Oversee claim administration, ensuring all claims are submitted and processed in a timely manner. • Implement and follow collection processes to achieve collection targets and maintain cash flow. • Communicate with patients and stakeholders to address payment-related inquiries and provide excellent customer service. Requirements • At least 3 years of experience in medical billing, collections, or a related field. • Proficiency with EHR systems such as Allscripts or Cerner. • Strong understanding of Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) for efficient data management. • Demonstrated expertise in accounts receivable and collection processes. • Experience with billing functions, claim administration, and appeals resolution. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and insurance providers.
