The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working with a healthcare organization in the Indianapolis area to add a Medical Charge Entry Specialist to their team. This will be a fully onsite position.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Responsibilities for the position include the following:
+ Accurate Charge Entry: Precisely input physician charges into the billing system.
+ Coding Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all procedural and diagnostic codes (CPT, ICD-10, etc.), correctly identify appropriate codes, and educate staff on proper coding practices when errors occur.
+ Coding Issue Resolution: Collaborate with staff to resolve coding discrepancies and associated billing problems.
+ Daily Charge Balancing: Reconcile and balance charges on a daily basis to ensure accuracy.
+ Payment Posting: Accurately post payments collected by the office or department.
+ Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality of all patient and financial information.
Requirements
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing, specifically in a Charge Entry role.
+ At least 1 year of experience managing clinical and technical claims denials within a medical billing environment.
+ Strong grasp of medical terminology is essential.
+ Proficient in patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
+ Required knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.
+ Understands insurance regulations relevant to charge entry functions.
+ Familiar with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR) or other healthcare-related computer systems.
+ Highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
