Medical Billing Specialist - Customer Service Representative

LOCATION:  250 Miller Place, Hicksville, NY 11801

HOURS:   8:30am-5:00pm; Monday to Friday

FULL TIME:   Benefits Eligible

Responsibilities

Speak to client's and patient's regarding billing, questions, and concerns

Verify both commercial and government insurance by possessing a thorough understanding of both insurance types

Use insurance websites to navigate EOB’S and answer customer insurance questions

Respond to client and patient emails professionally regarding billing questions and concerns

Completes special projects as needed

Assists team members with various billing tasks as needed

Must be able to do 10 hours of overtime spread out on the last two weeks of the month

Qualifications

HS Diploma

Previous call center experience, preferred

Medical Billing Insurance experience, preferred

Medical Billing Certification

Knowledge of ICD 9 & 10 codes and CPT coding guidelines

Familiarity with medical insurance terminology, and third party payer reimbursement policies and procedures

Strong computer literacy with good typing skills, 45 words per minute

Demonstrates excellent research, problem solving and follow up skills

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve ongoing problems

Must be a dependable and reliable team player able to work independently and as part of a goal oriented team with a positive attitude

Salary Range: $17.00 to $20.00 per hour. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
