Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Garden City, New York. Responsibilities: • Process medical billing transactions, including charge entry and insurance submissions, with precision and timeliness. • Handle medical collections by following up on outstanding accounts and resolving payment discrepancies effectively. • Manage authorization requests and approvals to ensure compliance with payer requirements. • Investigate and address claim denials, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. • Conduct patient follow-ups to clarify billing issues and provide necessary support. • Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to streamline billing operations. • Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. • Monitor accounts receivable and take proactive steps to improve collection rates. • Contribute to the optimization of billing processes and workflows. • Provide regular updates to management regarding billing metrics and challenges. Requirements • Proven experience in medical billing, including charge entry and claims processing. • Strong knowledge of insurance authorization processes and payer requirements. • Ability to analyze and resolve claim denials efficiently. • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and insurance representatives. • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and adhering to regulatory compliance. • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and problem-solving. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
