Description We are looking for a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medical claims processing and coding. Responsibilities: • Review and process medical claims with precision to ensure compliance with established policies. • Utilize ICD-10 coding standards to accurately code patient charts and clinical documentation. • Address and resolve backlogged claims, prioritizing timely and accurate processing. • Collaborate with team members to ensure all claim submissions meet insurance requirements. • Audit medical charts and claims data to identify and correct discrepancies. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing and coding regulations. • Generate reports to track claim status and identify areas for improvement. • Communicate with insurance providers to resolve claim-related issues effectively. • Assist in implementing best practices to streamline claims processing workflows. Requirements • Proficiency in medical billing, coding, and claims processing. • Strong understanding of ICD-10 coding standards and medical terminology. • Experience working with medical charts and claims data. • Ability to manage high volumes of claims and prioritize tasks effectively. • Familiarity with healthcare insurance policies and procedures. • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication skills for interacting with insurance providers and team members. • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
