Description We are looking for an experienced Medical Biller Collections Specialist to join our team in Orange, California. This is a contract position ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in medical billing and collections, particularly in the hospice care sector. The role demands precision, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex billing and claims processes effectively. Responsibilities: • Process medical claims accurately, ensuring compliance with hospice billing standards. • Follow up on outstanding medical claims and resolve denials with insurance providers. • Handle appeals for denied claims, submitting the required documentation and tracking outcomes. • Collaborate with insurance companies to address and resolve payment discrepancies. • Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments, and adjustments. • Apply knowledge of medical terminology to review and verify billing codes. • Ensure timely submission of claims and adherence to deadlines. • Communicate with patients and families to clarify billing questions and resolve concerns. • Stay updated on changes in billing regulations and insurance policies. • Identify trends in claim denials and recommend process improvements. Requirements • Proven experience in medical billing and collections, with a focus on hospice care. • Proficiency in handling medical claims, appeals, and denials. • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and billing codes. • Familiarity with insurance policies and payment processes. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in using billing software and related tools.
