Responsibilities:
Greet and escort patients to exam rooms.
Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints accurately.
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
Assist physicians and other healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures.
Perform phlebotomy, injections, EKG, and other clinical tasks as directed by the provider and within scope of practice.
Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician.
Perform basic lab tests and prepare specimens for external laboratory analysis.
Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars.
Process prescription refills under physician supervision.
Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
Handle patient calls, answer questions, and direct inquiries appropriately.
Assist with insurance pre-authorizations and referrals.
Maintain clean, orderly, and well-stocked exam rooms and work areas.
Sterilize instruments and ensure proper disposal of medical waste.
Assist with ordering and managing medical supplies.
Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:

Bilingual (e.g., Spanish/English) is preferred

High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
2+ years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant in a family medicine or internal medicine practice.
Current MA certification/registration (if required by state law).
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems (specify if you use a particular one, e.g., "eClinicalWorks," "Epic," "Practice Fusion").
Excellent phlebotomy and injection skills.
Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
High level of professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
