**Job Summary**
The Medical Assistant – Urgent Care Center supports urgent care providers by assisting with clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care. This role includes rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting with procedures, and performing basic front-desk duties when needed. The Medical Assistant contributes to a positive patient experience by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized care environment in a fast-paced setting.
**Essential Functions**
+ Prepares exam rooms and assists with rooming patients, including taking vital signs and obtaining medical histories.
+ Supports providers during examinations and procedures by anticipating needs and ensuring necessary supplies and equipment are available.
+ Assists with specimen collection and processing under supervision and in accordance with facility protocols.
+ Provides patients with clear instructions for follow-up care or diagnostic testing as directed by the provider.
+ Maintains clean, stocked exam rooms and performs basic equipment sanitization between patient visits.
+ Performs administrative support tasks such as check-in, registration, and patient documentation as needed.
+ Monitors patient flow and collaborates with the care team to support efficient care delivery and reduced wait times.
+ Responds to basic patient questions and relays more complex inquiries to the provider or appropriate staff member.
+ Adheres to infection control protocols, privacy standards, and facility policies.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
**Qualifications**
+ 0-1 years of experience in a clinical or urgent care setting preferred
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, walk-in urgent care environment.
+ Basic understanding of clinical procedures, vital sign collection, and medical terminology.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
+ Proficiency in navigating EMR systems or willingness to learn.
**Licenses and Certifications**
+ BCLS - Basic Life Support required
