Job Summary 

The Medical Assistant – Urgent Care Center supports urgent care providers by assisting with clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care. This role includes rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting with procedures, and performing basic front-desk duties when needed. The Medical Assistant contributes to a positive patient experience by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized care environment in a fast-paced setting. 

Essential Functions

Prepares exam rooms and assists with rooming patients, including taking vital signs and obtaining medical histories.Supports providers during examinations and procedures by anticipating needs and ensuring necessary supplies and equipment are available.Assists with specimen collection and processing under supervision and in accordance with facility protocols.Provides patients with clear instructions for follow-up care or diagnostic testing as directed by the provider.Maintains clean, stocked exam rooms and performs basic equipment sanitization between patient visits.Performs administrative support tasks such as check-in, registration, and patient documentation as needed.Monitors patient flow and collaborates with the care team to support efficient care delivery and reduced wait times.Responds to basic patient questions and relays more complex inquiries to the provider or appropriate staff member.Adheres to infection control protocols, privacy standards, and facility policies.Performs other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

0-1 years of experience in a clinical or urgent care setting preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, walk-in urgent care environment.Basic understanding of clinical procedures, vital sign collection, and medical terminology.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.Proficiency in navigating EMR systems or willingness to learn.

Licenses and Certifications

BCLS - Basic Life Support required
