Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant/Surgical Technologist to join our team in providing exceptional dermatological and surgical care. This role involves assisting in surgery procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining high standards of clinical operations.
ResponsibilitiesRoom patients and document all vital information accurately.Scribe information for the dermatologist during consultations and procedures.Perform phlebotomy and draw blood samples as required.Clean and stock exam rooms to maintain a sterile environment.Schedule patient appointments efficiently.Take appropriate photographs of Mohs stages, label and organize them meticulously.Handle specimens for pathology according to prescribed standards.Assist in procedure room maintenance, including case preparation, room turnover, and instrument processing.Prepare patients prior to procedures by obtaining and reconciling medical and surgical history, medication lists, and allergies; document appropriately in EMR.Educate patients on treatment plans, expectations, and post-operative instructions.Essential SkillsProficient in suture removal and dermatology procedures.Ability to accurately take patient vitals.Experience with medical preparation and disassembly of surgical instrumentation.Proficiency in using EMR systems.Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and aseptic techniques.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience as a Medical Assistant, LPN, CDT, or Surgical Tech in a Dermatology, Mohs Surgery, or other surgical setting is required.Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.Previous experience in dermatology and skin care treatment is preferred.Working knowledge of sterilization practices.Experience with EHR and Practice Management Systems.Phlebotomy certification is preferred.Work Environment
The position offers a structured schedule from Monday to Thursday, 6:30 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional Fridays during cooler months. Work locations include St. Peters on Monday and Tuesday, and Webster Groves on Wednesday and Thursday. The role requires adaptability to different clinical settings and adherence to professional attire standards.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
