Medical Assistant- Sleep Medicine
Job Title: Medical Assistant - Sleep DisordersJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team, primarily responsible for assisting in an office setting focused around telephonic and in-basket messages. This role involves taking patient calls and coordinating with the RN on staff to determine the appropriate course of action. A significant portion of the role, approximately 75%, will involve handling provider orders for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) requests, specifically related to sleep disorders. Patients will be issued CPAP machines for Sleep Apnea Therapy. Responsibilities + Assist in managing telephonic and in-basket messages in the office setting. + Coordinate with the RN to direct patient inquiries to the appropriate resources. + Focus on processing provider orders for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) requests. + Ensure detailed communication and documentation for patient calls and DME orders. + Handle requests primarily related to sleep disorders and CPAP machine issuance. Essential Skills + Proficiency in Epic systems. + Experience in case management and prior authorization processes. + Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credentials. + Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. + At least 2 years of experience in a medical setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in Neurology is beneficial but not required. Work Environment The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with either 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This position offers a great opportunity to gain experience within a reputable organization. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.
