Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our pediatric neurology department. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with pediatric patients and contributing to the smooth operation of a team that supports eight exam rooms and manages a high patient volume. This role requires a balance of both front and back office responsibilities, ensuring efficient patient check-in, rooming, and check-out processes. #stlsci
ResponsibilitiesFloat between front and back office duties, including patient check-in, rooming, and check-out.Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring they are ready for patient use.Prepare patient charts and obtain necessary reports and records.Direct patient flow to ensure the clinical office operates smoothly.Interact directly with patients in a clinic setting, performing tasks such as obtaining vital signs and conducting EKGs.Verify patient medications and prepare for office hours by scheduling tests and preparing exam rooms.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.Certification as a Medical Assistant.Experience with EPIC software.Experience working in pediatrics.BLS certification.Strong communication skills and ability to work well with different personalities.Additional Skills & QualificationsTenure in previous roles is highly valued.Ability to maintain good attendance and reliability.Work Environment
This position operates within a structured schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. The work environment involves supporting a patient volume that can reach up to 130 on busy days and around 35 on slower days. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
