**Schedule:** Full Time - Monday 6:45a-3:15p, Tuesday 7:45a-4:15p, Wednesday 6:45a-3:15p, Thursday 6:45a-3:15p, Friday 7:45a-4:15p, Saturday 9a-12p (once per month)

**The role you'll contribute:**
The Medical Assistant provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of Florida Statues Title XXXII: Regulations of Professionals and Occupations. Chapter 458. Medical Assistants assist in various aspects of medical practice until the direct supervisor and responsibility of a physician. Responsibilities may include: patient care management, administrative and clinical procedures, managerial and supervisory function. In all practice endeavors the medical Assistant will adhere to ethical and professional practice.

+ Front Office Duties: * Reviews appointment bookings in advance and ensure patients receive appointment reminders. * Verify and validate insurance prior to appointment date. * Completes check in process, securing copays and balance amounts. * Verifies consent forms are completed and up to date. * Maintains timely flow of patients and keep patients up to date of any delays. * Responds to and returns in-coming telephone calls in a timely manner. * Check out patient from visit and schedule the next visit
+ Clinical Duties: * All clinical skills will be verified within 90 days of hire and annually. * Completes onboarding competency validation prior to any invasive (CLIA labs etc..) procedures * Review schedule to ensure appropriately scheduled, charts prep with lab and imaging results, referrals completed * Completes chart abstraction/prep chart activities prior to patient visit. * Rooms patient and completes screenings, history taking, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and other relevant intake needs. * Prepares the patient and room for physical assessment or procedure. * Instructs patient regarding samples and tests. * Reviews tests results with patients if non-critical. * Informs physician of any critical results or abnormal results from imaging, laboratory etc. * Assists with procedures such as ECG, ear lavage, vision and hearing tests * Administers prescribed treatments in accordance with AHMG policies and medical standards. * Ensures medical equipment is functioning and up to date * Ensures adequate supplies and medications are not expired * Responsible for preparation of exam rooms including restocking of treatment areas and disinfecting of exam tables and counters. * Assists with inbaskets throughout the day * Practices Body Substance Isolation. Ensures that PPE is available at all times in each exam room and adheres to proper precaution level and technique. * Demonstrates responsibility/knowledge about commonly used medications. * Assists with completion of prior authorizations utilization * Completes diagnostic coding and procedure coding * Completes logs for CLIA compliancy and other regulatory bodies. * Follows AdventHealth policy on cleaning and sterilization of instruments. * Answer phone calls relating to clinical needs and triages appropriately
+ Other: * Complies with office policy and procedures for OSHA, CLIA and Infection Prevention standards. * Supports the development of staff teamwork by being willing to assist patients, visitors and co- workers when necessary to facilitate a smooth workflow. * Maintains the confidentiality of employees' and patients' administrative and medical information, with no infractions. * Assists with completion of paperwork relating to workers compensation, FMLA, DME etc. * Continuously strives to improve pt satisfaction by going above and beyond * Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan, and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. * Must only complete job duties permitted by uncertified/unregistered MAs. * Must be willing to float to other AdventHealth Medical practices, within reason, when patient load, vacation schedules etc. make it necessary. * Assists virtually when other practices require assistance.
Qualifications
**The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:**
+ High School Grad or Equiv Required
+ Display a caring and professional consumer focus attitude at all times
+ Able to communicate in writing and verbally clearly and effectively with patients and co-workers.
+ Demonstrates ability to utilize numerous technology software, such as the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
+ Updates clinical and medical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities for professional growth i.e., completion of certification exam
+ Able to multitask and triage needs of patients and coworkers for efficient care
+ Must maintain confidentiality at all times
+ Strong critical thinking skills
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Preferred
+ Certification required after hire
