If you're ready to bring your skills on the road and grow with a team that values your dedication and drive, we invite you to apply today! **Responsibilities:** + Coordinate daily schedules and patient flow. + Accompany patients to exam or procedure rooms and assist with mobility, dressing, specimen collection, and exam preparation. + Collect patient histories, vital signs, and perform screenings in accordance with provider guidelines. + Communicate care instructions clearly to patients and families to ensure understanding and continuity of care. + Send and receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations. + Prepare patient rooms and set up instruments and equipment in accordance with department protocols. + Clean exam and procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to ensure proper infection control. + Follow scheduled maintenance programs for cleaning and maintain accurate records. + Manage supply inventory and restock exam and procedure rooms as needed. + Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health) and all UPMC Health System policies and procedures. + Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. + Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, level one labs, and clinic procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures. + Assist physicians with clinical procedures to support patient care. + Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in the medical record. + Answer calls and provide pertinent information, including patient education, as directed. + Obtain lab and x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, and complete necessary forms and requisitions. + Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up as needed. + Verify insurance coverage and confirm patient demographics for accuracy. + Prepare and manage patient charts to ensure all information is complete, up-to-date, and properly filed. + Perform other front office responsibilities as required. + Administer injectable medication and vaccines when appropriate under the direction and supervision of a physician. Required: + High school diploma or equivalent. + Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** + CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
