Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life. *The Hospital of Central Connecticut Spine Center *specializes in treating adults struggling with new back and neck pain or injuries. Patients are evaluated by specialty-trained physicians and advanced practice providers. Once a diagnosis is made, patients receive treatment plans and referrals based on their unique needs. Patients of the Spine Center have access to the latest amenities and technology in a brand new setting. The Medical Assistants (MA) assists the clinician with clinical and administrative aspects of patient care. Performs a variety of technical tasks specified through department specific protocols. Prepares patients for examination, takes vitals, reviews medications and medical history. Documents appropriately in EMR system. Performs a variety of clerical and support functions including patient scheduling, referral management, prior authorizations and maintaining department inventory. *Education* Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below. *Experience* In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered. *Licensure, Certification, Registration* Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.
