Job Description
The Medical Assistant Lead is responsible for assisting in overseeing daily clinical operations for small to medium-sized offices with less than 4.5 clinicians and less than 6 staff members. This role ensures the delivery of quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of clinicians, focusing on both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role supports clinicians and care management teams in the maintenance of chronic disease management and the examination and treatment of a pediatric patient population.
Responsibilities
Support practice manager and PA management in training, development, and competency evaluation of Medical Assistant staff.Monitor patient visit time and experience, ensuring compliance with infection prevention programs, medication management, and vaccine cold chain handling.Maintain high-quality patient experience, ensuring a safe patient environment and cleanliness of office and exam rooms.Perform and document patient intake vitals, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate.Interview patients based on age appropriateness and specialty needs, updating medical records accurately.Prepare patients for clinician examination, ensuring clinician orders are performed and documented accurately.Assist clinicians in necessary procedures such as vision and hearing screenings, electrocardiograms, and emergency response.Perform vaccine and medication reconciliation with patients and state registry.Ensure proper vaccine cold chain management, including handling, storage, preparation, and administration.Complete patient follow-up tasks to meet patient needs, such as handling correspondence, prescription refill requests, and patient referrals.Proficient in lab services, including phlebotomy and lab sample collection.Essential Skills
Ability to lead and influence change within a team.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Knowledge of basic medical terminology and immunization.Proficiency in electronic health recordkeeping systems.Active BLS certification.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum High School diploma required.Bachelor of Science degree in General Medicine for medical foreign doctors preferred.Minimum 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in a healthcare setting required.MA Certification preferred.Work Environment
The role involves patient-facing, direct patient care, with potential travel to other office locations as needed. Work is conducted indoors and may involve exposure to excessive noise and hazards. Physical requirements include manual dexterity, reaching, lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs, and pushing/pulling up to 200 lbs. The role also requires the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The pay range for this position is $33196.00 - $46883.00/yr.
