Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. Responsibilities:
Job Summary: Under limited supervision, provides medical support to assigned patients by utilizing the nursing process and meeting the established standards within the clinic. Is accountable for assigned patients, demonstrates understanding of nursing and its issues and is an advocate for patient/families.
Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient histories and vital signs Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments. Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments Ensure all instruments are properly sterilized Performs specialized tests with provider orders or approved standing orders. Assists physician with treatments and procedures as needed. Provides patient education appropriate to the situation. Maintain the patient file, records and other information Maintain patient confidentiality Performs other duties as assigned. Floats between both locations as needed.
