Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for the Front Office to utilize Medent as the EMR system for maintaining patient records. This role is pivotal in welcoming patients, ensuring they feel comfortable, and informed while managing the appointment calendar, scheduling visits, and coordinating with the medical staff.
ResponsibilitiesWelcome patients as they arrive, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.Manage the appointment calendar and schedule patient visits.Coordinate with medical staff availability.Handle incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel.Address patient inquiries and verify insurance coverage.Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures.Ensure all necessary forms are completed and maintain patient confidentiality.Process insurance claims, create invoices, and manage patient billing.Update and maintain accurate patient medical histories and records.Provide patients with information on treatments, medications, and post-procedure care.Order and manage medical supplies and equipment.Work with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations.Essential SkillsExperience with EMR systems (Will use Medent/ModMed)Medical assisting and medical reception experience.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to organize workload and prioritize tasks.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience as a medical receptionist or in front office roles.Work Environment
The work environment is dynamic and engaging, with shifts from Monday to Friday, plus one weekend per quarter. Start times vary between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM, with 8-hour shifts, including a weekly evening shift from 12 PM to 8 PM once trained. Weekend shifts on Saturday and Sunday are from 8 AM to 12 PM. The primary location is in Sparta, with frequent visits to other sites as needed. Our network includes seven offices throughout New Jersey, offering a large network yet maintaining a small group feel. The offices are very busy, requiring EMR experience and multitasking capabilities. You'll interact with 20-40 patients a day, depending on provider rotation, about one patient every 15 minutes.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
