Medical Assistant- Certified
Salary: $1150 / Week Medical Assistant- Primary Care Clinic Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM– 4:00 PM (40 hours/week) Salary: (Depending on Qualifications/Experience) + Local Pay Range: $30–$35/hour + Travel Pay Range: $35–$40/hour (Includes Travel Expenses) Position Summary The Medical Assistant supports medical providers to ensurepatients receive high-quality care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA andQuileute Health Center (QHC) policies. This role requires licensure as eithera Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) or MedicalAssistant-Certified (MA-C). Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Maintain strict confidentiality at all times + Assist physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses with patient care + Obtain and record vital signs: temperature, respirations, pulse, blood pressure, height (cm), weight (kg), and O2 levels + Screen patients upon entry and escort them to exam rooms or other departments as needed + Document all patient encounters, including phone calls + Process orders, prescription requests, and authorizations for medications/procedures + Enter lab orders and complete lab requisition forms in the EHR + Assist providers with case management + Schedule diagnostic tests and referrals in coordination with the Medical Support Coordinator + Prepare, stock, and clean exam rooms and clinical areas + Assist with procedures using sterile technique and bloodborne pathogen precautions + Clean and sterilize medical equipment + Perform monthly checks on all QHC AEDs, including those in other departments + Other duties as assigned Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities + Proficient in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR) + Strong time management and attention to detail + Knowledge of basic medical procedures + Effective verbal and written communication skills + Ability to work as part of an integrated care team + Understanding of or willingness to learn about: + Tribal communities and intergenerational trauma + Trauma-informed care + Must follow QHC policies and medical team instructions Work Environment & Physical Demands + Typical clinical setting with potential exposure to medical equipment and procedures + Must be able to sit, stand, and occasionally lift/move up to 40 lbs + Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities Supervisory Responsibilities + None Qualifications Minimum Requirements + High School Diploma or equivalent + Valid MA-R or MA-C license + First Aid/CPR certification (upon hire) + Completion of QHC-specific certifications (HIPAA, ISSA, Confidentiality, etc.) + Must pass: + Pre-employment and random drug testing (per Tribal Drug and Alcohol Policy) + Criminal background check + Valid Driver’s License (copy required with application) + Comfortable with phlebotomy and paper charting Preferred Qualifications + At least one year of experience in a medical clinic setting General Information + This job description outlines the general nature and level of work performed.
