servicesJob SummaryProvides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant roleJob ResponsibilitiesClinical DutiesProvides direct patient care within the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant including but not limited to vitals outside medication reconciliation outside allergy reconciliation screenings patient history and virtual healthConducts point of care testing including quality control and documentationAssists providers with in house procedures as needed including but not limited to pumpsmeters bladder scan sterile technique suturesstaples and gyn examsObtains blood samples by venipuncture with competencyAccurately performs tests such as basic urine chemistry using chemical strips guaiac pH blood glucose UPT and hemocultureUnder direction of providers and nurses provides other treatments and care to patients appropriate to training as assignedPrepares and assists patients undergoing treatments examinations and proceduresAdministrative DutiesProvides administrative support including but not limited to scheduling chart prep referrals check inout prior authorizations and transportation facilitationAccurately documents and communicates interventions and measurements and communicates appropriately to health care providerCovers the front desk based on business needsAssists in the maintenance of equipment supplies and a clean and safe work environmentChecks equipment and supplies for expiration dates electrical safety tags intactness and usabilityCleans equipment and stores it in its proper placeReports equipment and supplies needing to be replaced or repaired to managerStocks rooms carts outlined belowDiploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferredIn lieu of education requirement at least one year of experience in direct patient care acute or ambulatory space may be consideredRelevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office is preferredEPIC EMR experience is preferredCertified BLS to be obtained through employment provided RQI training To be completed months days of hire or job transferMust be able to read and understand oral and written instructions and effectively communicate information in EnglishBilingual is preferredCustomer service skillsHIPAA complianceAbility to adhere to quality and safety standardsAbility to read and understand medical terminologyBasic computer skillsOrganizational skillsDemonstrated attention to detail in all aspects of workAbility to manage time and productivity without immediate supervisionAbility to work as part of a dynamic teamFlexibility to respond to changes in work schedules as necessary or as
