Position: Medical Assistant

Schedule: 4 Days a Week (Monday - Thursday)

Shifts: 10-Hour Days (2 days in the Bronx, 2 days in Brooklyn)

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure seamless communication of protocols, policies, and workflows within our Vascular Care Center recovery area.Provide compassionate post-procedure care, addressing comfort, safety, dressing needs, and nutritional support for patients.Act as a vital link between physicians, nurses, and patients, fostering a collaborative environment. Maintain accurate documentation of patients’ procedures each day. Support registered nurses during examinations and procedures, ensuring a high standard of care. Assist in lifting and transferring patients to and from various stretchers and wheelchairs.Occasionally cover Front Desk Coordinator duties as needed. Collaborate with management in overseeing and restocking medical supplies and equipment while ensuring a sterile environment. Safely dispose of biohazardous materials according to regulations.Exhibit flexibility and adaptability as a team member, with willingness to work additional hours if needed.Uphold professionalism in interactions with patients, physicians, and team members.Comply with HIPAA regulations and adhere to office safety protocols. Perform other duties as requested by management and medical staff.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of patient care experience required.Medical Assistant Certification is preferred.Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification from the American Heart Association is required.Updated physical, vaccines, and titers: PPD/TB, Hep B, MMR, Varicella.COVID-19 and flu vaccinations are preferred.Ability to lift and assist patients as needed.Willingness to travel between multiple Vascular Care Centers.Comfort working in patient recovery settings.Strong assessment skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
