Medical Assistant Job Description The Medical Assistant will be responsible for stocking rooms, cleaning instruments, using autoclave machines, and setting up rooms for procedures. Patient intake duties include collecting medical history, recording symptoms, and escorting patients to their rooms. Responsibilities + Stock rooms with necessary supplies and equipment. + Clean and sterilize instruments using autoclave. + Set up rooms for medical procedures. + Conduct patient intake, including collecting medical history and recording symptoms. + Greet patients and escort them to their designated rooms. Essential Skills + Medical assistant experience, minimum of 1 year in a clinical setting. + Proficiency in phlebotomy and clinical assistance. + Ability to measure and record vital signs. + Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, specifically EClinicalWorks. + Completed Medical Assistant program. + Professional communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Certification as a medical assistant preferred but not required. + Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Customer service abilities. Work Environment The work environment is a high-volume, fast-paced community health center located in Poughkeepsie. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
