ResponsibilitiesRoom patients and take vital signs.Handle refill requests and manage patient calls, both incoming and outbound.Perform charting and chart preps with experience in EMR systems, specifically eClinicalWorks.Utilize prior experience in a surgery clinic to obtain appropriate medical history and understand the necessary questioning techniques.Support multiple providers by following specific processes and asking follow-up questions to understand patients' medical history, underlying conditions, and current medication regimen.Essential SkillsExperience in primary care and telephonic patient interactions.Proficiency with EMR systems, particularly eClinicalWorks.Knowledge in the field of gastroenterology.Certification as a Medical Assistant with at least 6 months of experience or relevant externships.Additional Skills & QualificationsWillingness to learn and assist wherever needed.Strong patient interaction skills.Ability to prioritize patient care.Work Environment
Work in a fast-paced, high patient volume environment at a Gastroenterology and Hepatology physician's clinic. The clinic operates from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5-5:30pm. You will primarily work at the Lee Summit clinic and may occasionally float to the Overland Park location. The team is family-oriented, supportive, and committed to maintaining high morale with initiatives like Food Fridays and Red Fridays. Dress code is scrubs.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $22.00/hr.
