Job Description
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth patient flow and delivering exceptional care. You will greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously, escort them to exam rooms, assist in preparing them for exams, and communicate with physicians when patients are ready. You will be responsible for recording vital signs, patient histories, allergies, and other pertinent information, maintaining clean and orderly medical areas, and providing clerical support.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor patient arrival and assist with patient flow.Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously.Escort patients to exam rooms and assist in preparing them for exams.Advise physicians when patients are ready.Obtain and record patients' chief complaints and vital signs.Collect specimens and document results in patients' charts.Prepare medical records and take heights, weights, and vital signs.Ensure lab and other reports are on record before each appointment.Provide interpretation services and clerical support.Maintain examination rooms and medical areas in a clean and orderly fashion.Stock examination rooms with supplies and check against packing slips.Update patient information, including medical insurance coverage in EMR system.Retrieve and file medical reports and lab results.Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA rules.Essential SkillsProficiency in recording vitals and patient information.Experience with EMR systems.Knowledge of HIPAA rules.2+ years of healthcare experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with scheduling appointments.Familiarity with Epic and patient care.Work Environment
The Medical Assistant position is located in various outpatient offices in Westchester, including Scarsdale, Yonkers/Riverdale, Hawthorne, and White Plains, New York. The office operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and serves 50-100 patients a day in a busy and dynamic environment. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
