Summary

Summary: Under direct supervision of physician, performs a variety of clinical responsibilities to assist in the examination and treatment of patients. Performs other functions to support hospital and departmental requirements. Works proactively and in partnership with other staff contributing to effective operations. Delivers service in conjunction with the hospital's customer service standards and expectations.   Provides assistance and preparation prior to and during examination by health care providers. Works as a collaborative member of the clinical team to ensure quality services and patient safety. Prepares examination/treatment rooms for examinations of patients by properly positioning instruments, equipment and supplies. Maintains logs for refrigerator temperature (medications and specimens) and weekly exam room cleaning. Administers medication by oral, intramuscular or subcutaneous routes under physician order. Performs general clerical duties necessary to support physician office practice.

Requirements:

Must be a Graduate from an Accredited Medical Assistant School/Program

Active Basic Life Support Certification 

*Less than 1 year of experience
