Clinical Care Delivery provides high quality, patient-centered care focused on diagnosing, treating and managing care while ensuring the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the practice.
The Medical Assistant performs clinical support services, assists with clerical duties and maintains patient care documentation in medical records at Cancer Care of North Florida. This position is responsible for providing professional care specifically to urology patients in an outpatient setting. Duties in include rooming patients, checking vitals, blood draws, assisting with in-office procedures, and patient follow up, among others.
Responsibilities
Register new patientsAssist during medical proceduresTake vital signsSchedule external labs, diagnostic and other follow-up for patientsRequest and obtain necessary clinical documents for the patient’s chartUpdate medical records.Organize examination roomsSterilize / prepare medical instrumentsDisposal of contaminated suppliesFollow up on patient callsSchedule appointmentsCoordinate dictation scheduleMay assist with verifying health insurance coverage, and other clerical dutiesRegular attendance and punctualityContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededEnsures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achievedPerform any other functions as required by managementQualifications
Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessaryHigh School diploma/GED, or equivalent work experience, preferredCertified or eligible for certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of Florida, preferredCurrent CPR certificationBasic PC skills including Microsoft Office SuiteMinimum of two years of work experience, preferredUrology experience preferredPrior EMR experience preferredLocation
