Seeking a Medical Assistant to Join Our Team in Cedar Rapids!!
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to our patients. This role involves supporting dermatologists with various clinical tasks and ensuring efficient patient flow and documentation.
Responsibilities
+ Room patients and document all vital information accurately.
+ Scribe information for dermatologists during consultations.
+ Provide post-operative wound care instructions to patients.
+ Draw blood samples as required.
+ Clean and stock examination rooms to maintain a sterile environment.
+ Schedule patient appointments and manage the calendar efficiently.
+ Assist dermatologists with surgical photographs, biopsies, and patch testing, though you will not perform these tests.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in medical assisting and healthcare procedures.
+ Ability to schedule appointments and manage patient intake efficiently.
+ Experience in drawing blood and checking vital signs.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology and scribing techniques.
+ Strong customer service and triage skills.
Qualifications
+ Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is a plus.
+ 1-3 years of experience as a CMA or Medical Assistant.
+ High School Diploma is required.
Work Environment
The position offers a structured work schedule from Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday, 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The role may require travel to the Marion location as needed since providers rotate between sites. If travel to the other location is necessary for a split shift, the hourly rate will be paid for travel time. Note that there is no mileage reimbursement.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
