Job Description
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth patient flow and providing courteous service to patients and visitors. You will assist patients in preparing for exams, record vital signs, and maintain accurate medical records while supporting the physician and office operations.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor patient arrival and assist with patient flow, ensuring prompt and courteous greeting.Escort patients to exam rooms and monitor wait times.Assist patients in preparing for exams and notify physicians when patients are ready.Obtain and record patient complaints, histories, vital signs, allergies, and other relevant information.Prepare medical records and record heights, weights, and vital signs.Ensure lab and other reports are on record before appointments.Provide interpretation services and clerical support.Maintain examination rooms and medical areas in a clean and orderly fashion.Stock examination rooms with supplies and check supplies from vendors.Update patient information, including medical insurance coverage, in the EMR system.Retrieve and file medical reports and lab results.Maintain confidentiality of patient health information in accordance with HIPAA rules.Essential SkillsProficiency in recording vitals.Experience with EMR systems.Knowledge of medical assisting and patient care.Understanding of HIPAA rules.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years healthcare experience.Experience with scheduling appointments.Familiarity with Epic system.Work Environment
You will work in a busy outpatient office, handling 50-100 patients a day. The work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The environment is dynamic, requiring efficiency and attention to detail.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
