Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am to 5:00pm
Weekly travel between offices in Mechanicsburg and Lewisberry is required.
$1500.00 Sign-On Bonus for eligible new hires!
The salary range for this position is between $18.49-$28.39/hour.
Job title and salary will be based on qualifications and career ladder requirements.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Guides workflow and/or assigns tasks to other clinical staff.
+ Mentors, orients and provides ongoing training to current and new staff members.
+ Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations.
+ Coordinate imaging and diagnostic test orders.
+ Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics.
+ Assist with daily clinical operations, including patient intake, rooming and documentation.
+ Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.
+ Work closely with the surgeon, nurses and office staff to support efficient patient flow.
+ Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.
+ Collect patient information/history, taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines.
+ Participate in patient communication and follow-up care.
+ Answering calls and providing pertinent information including patient education as directed.
+ Under the direction and supervision of a physician, administer injectable medication.
+ Perform clinic procedures according to policy and procedure.
+ Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
+ Other front office responsibilities, as required.
**Medical Assistant, Senior:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program or equivalent hospital program (LPN/RN/EMT)
+ OR successful completion of certification examination (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT or NHA)
+ OR at least 1-year prior patient care experience required.
+ Must be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in three practice category specific tasks
+ Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.
+ Prior clinical or research experience is helpful but not required.
**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
