Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland, on a Contract to permanent basis. In this role, you will manage patient accounts and oversee medical billing processes to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and expertise in handling claims, payment posting, and resolving denials.
Responsibilities:
• Handle medical billing processes, including submitting claims to patients and third-party payers.
• Resolve claim rejections and denials while ensuring clean claims are processed efficiently.
• Post insurance and patient payments, denials, and adjustments with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Follow up on outstanding balances, underpayments, and aged receivables to ensure timely resolution.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts receivable and payment records.
• Collaborate with management to address payment issues and implement process improvements.
• Maintain accurate billing records and ensure proper documentation of patient account statuses.
• Edit claims to comply with billing guidelines and electronic submission requirements.
• Stay updated on payer-specific guidelines and communicate relevant updates to the team.
• Manage assigned work queues, individual tasks, and priority reports effectively.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in medical accounts receivable and payment posting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical billing processes, insurance terminology, and claims management.
• Proficiency in using medical claims clearinghouses and electronic payment systems.
• Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and third-party billing guidelines, including interpreting EOBs and payer remits.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to identify root causes of claim denials and collaborate with teams to implement solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, payers, and management.
