What You'll Do

Reporting to the North America (NAMR) Public Relations Director and working closely with the media relations team, this strategic communicator will develop and execute innovative, compelling, and impactful media strategies—particularly with a focus on cross-platform public relations. The role requires strong media connections, a sharp understanding of the news cycle, and the ability to collaborate with internal experts to present a cohesive external narrative. Strong writing and grammar skills, along with experience in media analytics and social media, are essential.


Planning

Identify news hooks and timely global events by understanding the news cycle and media priorities, linking them to BCG insights.Maximize visibility of BCG experts in the media using timely and relevant content.Partner with campaign and practice teams to define priority messages, spokespeople, challenges, and opportunities.Develop strategies and work plans, measuring outcomes against objectives.Adapt priorities in response to evolving trends and organizational needs.

Execution

Lead execution of media plans through proactive outreach across broadcast, print, digital, and social platforms, delivering both quality and quantity of coverage.Build and strengthen relationships between BCG experts and journalists.Partner across media relations, marketing, and practice area teams—globally and regionally—to ensure consistent, resonant messaging for internal and external audiences.Track, measure, and report on media coverage for campaigns and practice areas in NAMR using analytics tools and evaluation metrics.

Communication

Draft and deliver persuasive media pitches with minimal supervision.Write social-ready content, such as LinkedIn posts, blogs, and long-form articles, to amplify visibility of media mentions.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree with strong academic achievement.3–5 years of experience in public relations, communications, or journalism; agency or professional services experience is a plus.Demonstrated involvement executing proactive media strategies in a fast-paced environment.

Format:

This role currently requires 3 days a week in office presence. This provides flexibility the remaining 40% of the work week. This hybrid work plan allows for critically important learning, collaboration, and networking with our colleagues. Specific days in the office are agreed upon by the team. 

 

Compensation Information:  

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market leading benefits package described below.

 

The base salary range for this role begins at $95,000 USD in our lowest cost geography and goes up to $119,000 USD in our highest cost geography. Your recruiting contact can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

 

This is an estimated range and specific base salaries within the range depend on factors such as office location, experience, and skill set. It is not common for new BCG employees to be hired at the high-end of the salary range. BCG regularly reviews its ranges to ensure market competitiveness.

 

In addition to your base salary, your total compensation will include a discretionary bonus of up to 12% and a generous retirement contribution that starts at 5% and moves to 10% after 2 years.
