Media Prep Technician
Job Title: Media Prep Technician

Job Description

As a Media Prep Technician, you will be responsible for manufacturing liquid media by following batch records and standard operating procedures that require good documenting practices, aseptic techniques, and attention to detail. You will maintain an inventory of media components and completed liquid media preparations, and ensure proficiency in data collection and management. Additionally, you will maintain a clean and organized workspace and manage a media production schedule within a team environment.

ResponsibilitiesManufacture liquid media by adhering to batch records and SOPs.Maintain an inventory of media components and completed liquid media preparations.Demonstrate proficiency in data collection and management.Keep a clean and organized workspace.Collaborate with a team to manage a media production schedule.Maintain JIRA board to track status, requests, and deliveries of media orders from researchers.Communicate with requestors regarding media preparation activities, observations, and status.Troubleshoot issues with the team if specifications are not met.Essential SkillsExperience in mammalian cell culture and laboratory settings.Minimum of one year experience in Media Prep, preferably in a non-academic setting.Effective time management and organizational skills.Strong math skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet navigation.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to work on feet, standing or walking up to 80% of shift.Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently.Work Environment

This position is located onsite in Emeryville, working from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with flexibility required for start times based on media and team needs. The team consists of two additional members plus this role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
