Description
The Medi-Cal Collector is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate collection of payments related to Medi-Cal claims. This role requires expertise in UB-04 claims form processing, denials management, and a strong background in resolving outstanding claims efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a meticulous attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a thorough understanding of Medi-Cal billing regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
+ UB-04 Processing: Accurately prepare, review, and submit claims using the UB-04 format in compliance with Medi-Cal regulations.
+ Denials Management: Investigate, analyze, and resolve claim denials through detailed follow-up and corrective actions, ensuring maximum reimbursement.
+ Claims Collections: Proactively track and contact payers regarding outstanding Medi-Cal claims to ensure timely payment resolution.
+ Documentation & Analytics: Maintain detailed records of claim submissions, denials, and resolutions, providing periodic reports to management.
+ Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all processes align with state and federal Medi-Cal guidelines, staying current on changes in regulations and policies.
Requirements
+ Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Medi-Cal collections, preferably within a healthcare or medical billing setting.
+ Thorough knowledge of UB-04 claim forms and Medi-Cal billing protocols.
+ Proven expertise in denials management, including identification and resolution of common denial codes.
+ Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaison with internal teams and external payers
