**Responsibilities** The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), within their scope of practice and under direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practitioner is responsible for contributing to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care to a designated group of healthcare consumers across the continuum. Provides services which encompass the spiritual, physiological, social, and psychological aspects of care of the sick, prevention of disease, or conservation of health. The position contributes to the mission and core values of CHI Health. Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practitioner follows the nursing process which includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. The nursing process is an ongoing process that can end at any stage. Assessment - Demonstrates a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze the following healthcare consumer data including: psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic and lifestyle factors. Contributes to the RN initial assessment and may perform re-assessment. **Qualifications** Graduate of a LPN nursing program Licensed Practical Nurse: IA (LPN:IA) Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) Expanded IV Therapy Course (EIV) - within 12 months **Overview** At CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs, patients are at the heart of our care.
