Job Description

We’re looking for a Mechatronics Engineer with a focus on embedded software development for actuator motor control.

 

In this hands-on role, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team within Danfoss Climate Solutions, working on smart actuator technologies for district energy systems. You’ll develop real products — combining embedded software, electronics, and mechanics — and see them come to life through testing and integration.

This is primarily an onsite role based in Ljubljana, Trata, where hands-on collaboration and hardware testing are essential to the work.

Job Responsibilities

 

Software & Development:

Develop embedded software for motor drivers (BLDC and stepper) — with focus on performance, reliability, low memory use, and cost optimization Write and maintain unit tests to ensure high-quality code Contribute to platform-level development that supports multiple product lines

 

Collaboration & Testing:

Work closely with software, hardware, mechanical engineers, and colleagues from production, quality, and testing labs Specify and implement manual and automated integration tests covering software, electronics, and mechanical components Be actively involved throughout the full embedded development lifecycle, from idea to validation Background & Skills

You have a few years of experience in embedded software development and:

Solid knowledge of embedded C Bonus: some experience with Python A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (software, computer science, electronics, mechatronics) is preferred — but equivalent hands-on experience works too As part of a global team, strong English communication skills (written and spoken) are essential
