As part of the Australia Munition business (AM) at our cutting-edge facilities in Benalla and Mulwala, we produce world-class propellants, explosives, and munitions for both defence and commercial applications. With ongoing investment in research and development, we remain at the forefront of the industry, providing an exciting environment for technical growth and innovation.

YOUR ROLE:

Reporting to the Industrial Activity Manager, the Mechanical Tradesperson shall work as part of a team to meet the team’s goals with regard to safety, quality, production, cost and continuous improvement. The Mechanical Tradesperson will carry out preventative maintenance, machine breakdown maintenance for a large production area. Your success and that of your team is dependent upon members working together toward common goals for which they are mutually accountable. All team members are expected to support the team co-leaders in the functions they perform to achieve the team goals.

Working at our Benalla site, on Pangerang and Yorta Yorta Land, your exciting new career opportunity will see you:

Operate a range of production machinery and equipment.

In process inspection of production work involving the use of gauges and visual standards.

Maintain quality control and inventory records where required.

Fault finding, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement activities.

Fault diagnosing of equipment, repair and overhaul of equipment and also installation of equipment.

Use Predictive Maintenance/Condition Monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonics, visual inspections etc.

Identifying underperforming plant for further analysis and provide solutions to improve.

Completing, risk assessments and hazards as directed.

Encouraging continuous improvement in all production and project activities.

Comply with all company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies and work practices with the intent of preventing or minimising accidents and incidents to self, colleagues, visitors and/or the environment.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

QUALIFICATIONS

Trade Qualification in a Mechanical Field

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Well-developed communications, fault finding and diagnostic skills.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

Machining skills, tool making.

Pneumatics and Hydraulics.

Experience in managing minor projects involving processes and plant.

Mobile vehicle licences including Elevated Work Platform and forklift.

Completion of Installation and Maintenance Techniques.
