Mechanical Technician (Process Specialist)

We are seeking an experienced Process Specialist for our First Quality facility located in Macon, GA.   

This position is responsible for utilizing materials and manpower to efficiently produce a quality product during the manufacturing process.

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all timesFollows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations/guidelinesUpdates line logbooks on machine operation and troubleshooting and sends shift updates outlining machine performance for the shiftAttends morning and evening shift change meetings to ensure effective handoff between shifts, and presents major items from the shift and ongoing issuesMaintains quality standards for the product being produced, supporting and leading proactive quality initiatives such as the Shift Process Cleaning documentationKeeps the machine and surrounding areas clean at all timesTroubleshoots problems and performs adjustments to the machineProperly trains machine operators, new line leaders, and other employees as required, and assists them in completing their Pay for Skills requirementsInspects product from each line every shift to ensure high quality and performs additional quality checks as requiredUtilizes Quality Window to review quality results and proactively address any outlying issuesThroughout the shift, proactively monitors all machine performance metrics versus objective and works with the machine team to resolve outstanding issuesExamines defects and scrap causes and takes appropriate corrective action when neededAssists maintenance team and shift supervisor as neededProperly completes all necessary paperwork including Work Orders and Work RequestsManages lines through team approach principals and developing effective, self- sustaining work teamsFill in as Platform Team Process Specialist, as needed

Education and experience requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (required)1-2 years of trade school or college and three years of manufacturing experience (preferred)Experience troubleshooting high speed manufacturing equipment and monitoring machine performanceExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate orally and in writingAbility to work in and manage a team-oriented environmentAbility to operate in a fast-paced environmentFor internal applicants: Completion of Tech III Pay for Skills criteria in Production; advanced knowledge of technical processes, materials, and procedures; and completion of all required training and assessments
