Mechanical Technician (Bilingual)

Job Description: Are you passionate about hands-on mechanical work and cutting-edge technology? As a Mechanical Technician, you’ll play a key role in assembling and modifying experimental test models and equipment based on detailed instructions or in collaboration with senior technicians and engineers.

In this role, you’ll:

Install, test, repair, and maintain mechanical systems and subsystemsWork on exciting prototypes and custom setups under the guidance of experienced team membersRead and interpret complex technical drawings and schematicsRecord and analyze test results, contributing to innovative product developmentSupport preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of high-performance equipmentEstimate time and materials for new builds or maintenance tasksRecommend mechanical components for unique testing applicationsAssist with the programming and commissioning of automated equipment sequences using specialized softwareEnsure all work complies with internal standards and health & safety protocols

What You Bring

Core Skills & Qualifications:

DEC or college diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldMinimum 2 years of experience as a mechanical technicianStrong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical assemblyProficient with mechanical tools (e.g., torque wrenches, Allen keys)Comfortable using computer systems (e.g., JTtoGo or equivalent)Fluent in both spoken and written French and EnglishDetail-oriented with strong troubleshooting and analytical skillsAbility to interpret complex technical documentation and work with minimal supervision

Bonus Qualifications:

Experience assembling without technical drawingsFamiliarity with aerospace ground support equipmentExperience in gearbox repair and assemblyPrevious experience in an R&D or prototyping environment

Work Environment

You’ll work in a pristine, climate-controlled cleanroom environment designed for high-tech manufacturing. This unionized setting offers a strong sense of structure and community, with a predominantly French-speaking team. For the weekend shift, you’ll be part of a small, focused crew working closely with one other technician. Cleanroom attire is required, including full-body covers, hairnets, and anti-static footwear to maintain the sterile and static-free workspace.

Training Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PMWeekend Shift: Friday to Sunday, 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM

The pay range for this position is $67875.00 - $80601.00/yr.
