PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a skilled Process Instrumentation Technician to support a world-class manufacturing operation in South San Francisco, CA. In this critical, hands-on role, you’ll ensure the integrity and reliability of instrumentation systems that power pharmaceutical and life sciences production—directly contributing to public health and innovation.

What You’ll Do

As a Process Instrumentation Technician, you'll take the lead on calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex instrumentation systems that support both manufacturing and utility operations. You’ll be a vital part of a high-performing team that ensures all systems function with peak precision, supporting critical production processes.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include:

Performing scheduled calibrations and preventive maintenance on lab and process control instruments

Installing, modifying, and repairing electronic, electromechanical, and pneumatic systems

Supporting start-up and validation of control systems and manufacturing processes

Drafting and revising SOPs and detailed equipment service reports

Gathering technical data and collaborating across departments including Manufacturing, Metrology, and Engineering

Using CMMS to manage and document maintenance activities

Complying with TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA) requirements for warehouse access

Prioritizing safety and environmental compliance in every task

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

Solid understanding of industrial process instrumentation and PID control theory

Ability to read engineering documentation and create technical schematics

Familiarity with BMCS and MCS systems

Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and relay ladder logic

Proficiency in using standard shop tools with an emphasis on safety

Preferred Qualifications:

Certificate or degree from a technical institution

Completion of a military Precision Electronics Maintenance (PEM) program

Working Conditions

This is an on-site role located in South San Francisco, CA.
You should be comfortable with:

Standing for 8–10 hours/day and climbing stairs/ladders

Lifting up to 60 lbs. and working in small spaces

Wearing PPE including respirators, bunny suits, and hearing protection

Navigating a cleanroom environment with mechanical systems and noise

Working with hazardous materials

A schedule that may include evenings, weekends, or off-shift hours (including On-Call rotations)

Pay Details: $35.45 to $37.45 per hour
