Job Description:

Lead and manage a team of 5 Reliability Associates  

Mars Petcare Australia/New Zealand home of market leading brands such as PEDIGREE®, DINE® & WHISKAS®  

Perm Full time role based in Bathurst (NSW).

In this role you will define and implement strategic maintenance initiatives that leverage your expertise and insights.

You’ll make informed decisions on the allocation of Reliability funds, ensuring resources are utilized effectively to boost both reliability and operational efficiency without compromising on cost. 

You will also manage and coordinate supplemental contractor support, overseeing the activities of 10 to 20 contractors during maintenance shutdowns.

Your commitment to quality and safety standards will be key in ensuring seamless collaboration between associates and contractors. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Lead and manage a team of 5 Reliability Associates and 1 apprentice to ensure timely and high-quality execution of weekly maintenance schedules. 

Forecast and manage labor and expense budgets for the mechanical team to optimize resources and cost efficiency. 

Act as the primary technical resource for a 4-member shift-based mechanical team, providing guidance and expertise. 

Drive initiatives and minor projects to enhance equipment reliability using innovative solutions and best practices. 

Champion vibration analysis and implement predictive maintenance tools within the Mechanical team. 

Work closely with the Reliability Planner to refine preventive maintenance tasks and optimize schedules. 

Actively participate in Factory performance reviews (FMOS) to provide insights and allocate resources effectively. 

Lead initiatives within the Progressive Maintenance MSE Pillar to achieve strategic goals. 

Oversee maintenance activities during plant shutdowns, ensuring safety and operational standards are met. 

Ensure adherence to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 

Administer the Autodesk Vault for efficient document organization, version control, and access. 

 

What We’re Looking For: 

Mechanical Trade or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred. 

1-2 years in supervision, team leadership, or line management. 

Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies, CAD, and maintenance scheduling systems. Knowledge of automation systems is a plus. 

Proven experience in a maintenance or high-speed manufacturing environment.
