What does it take to be a Mechanical Inspector?
It is about knowing and understanding inspection techniques and industry regulations and standards. It is about being curious to find the root cause of corrosion and other inspection issues that might be found. It is about following up on inspection results with operations and maintenance to ensure all deficiencies and anomalies are addressed to ensure the ongoing safe operations of the Platform.

Activities:
This role is based at the Port Arthur Platform within the Technical Department.
Requirements:
* High School Diploma / Some College preferred.
* This position could be either a Mechanical Inspector (3 years) or Senior Mechanical Inspector (10+ years) documented inspection experience in a petrochemical or refining facility.
American Petroleum Institute 510 certification required.American Petroleum Institute 570 certification and American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector preferred.Strong working knowledge of the National Codes and Standards (ASME, API, AWS, ASNT, TEMA). Have experience with non-destructive examination techniques (UT, PT, MT, and RT) with some construction background preferred.Ability to understand and interpret engineering standards and drawings.Efficiently manage multiple projects, contract personnel, and priorities simultaneously.Good oral, written, communication, interpersonal, and troubleshooting skills, computer skills.Familiar with Plant Condition Management System software. Level II RT Radiographic Film Interpretation Certification.Level II UT, PT, MT, VT, RT (TOTAL ASNT-TC-1A).The Inspector must be able to access extreme heights of up to 200 feet or work in confined spaces by entering openings of 18-24" confined space entry is most hazardous. Inspectors may be required to provide support to other Total facilities worldwide.This position is on call 24 hours a day.
