This role is based in Unki Mine Shurugwi Zimbabwe and its full time

Job Description

This role is responsible to ensure a safe, efficient and productive engineering maintenance through the supervision of a team of artisans on the Shaft.

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

Ensuring Safety Health Environmental and Quality compliance in lifting and rigging activities.Assist the Operation management team in developing an operational plan for the year to support the complex in achieving set targets and objectives.Analyze criticality and hazards associated with different types of lifts and assist the Rigging team in formulation of the respective critical controls.Oversee that all work practices are executed in compliance with legal requirements.Investigate all potential and repeat incidents with the aim of identifying root causes and eliminate defects.Ensure the agreed Lifting Asset/Equipment Management strategies and systems remain fully operational and are implemented effectively.Effective administration of the necessary systems.Supervising the Rigging team.To provide advice to riggers and relevant staff on lifting equipment repairs and preventative maintenanceProvide technical mentorship and skills development programs for the Rigging team.

This role is at a Band 7(C6) level reporting to the Section Engineer .

Qualifications5 ‘O’ level Subjects including EnglishApprentice trainedCertified competent skilled work Class 1 RiggerNational Certificate or higher in Rigging or Mechanical Engineering in an added advantage

        Experience, Knowledge and Skills

At least 10 years’ post trade qualified experienceExperience at supervision level as a Foreperson is an added advantageComputer literate in full MS OfficeGood analytical and decisions making skillsValid driving license
