As a Mechanical Flush Engineer at United Rentals with our Fluid Solutions Division, you will be responsible for the engineering support of multiple profit centers within the Fluid Solutions Division. Additional duties include the following:Design pumping, filtration, and other flushing system designs for data center and mechanical piping systems.Produce flushing design plans and supporting calculations for mechanical flushing projects throughout assigned locationsWorking knowledge of applicable piping and flushing standards including ASME, ANSI, and ASHRAEExperience with mechanical flushing techniques including high-velocity flushing, chemical cleaning, and system passivationEvaluate site conditions and design safe, effective, and structurally-sound flushing systems that promote jobsite efficiency and practicality in the fieldEnsure engineering drawings and plans are accurate and meet applicable engineering design standards and Federal State specific OSHA requirementsAssess situations that arise during field installation and recommend corrective actionsEducate as necessary and provide engineering support to Fluid sales representatives in providing quotes to customersEstimate project costs and prepare proposals for customersOther duties assigned as neededJob Requirements:B. S. in mechanical, structural or civil engineering, or related engineering field2+ years experience as a degreed engineer with a mechanical engineering concentrationCertified as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)/Engineering Intern (EI) or has met eligibility requirementsFamiliarity with AISC ASD or LRFDFamiliarity with basic structural engineering analysis and design standardsFamiliarity with hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., Pipe Flo)Experience with Autocad, Mathcad, Microsoft Word and Microsoft ExcelMust be able to effectively work independently, as well as within a team environmentMust be able to effectively work with customers and sales representatives to conceptually plan and negotiate flushing system designsStrong organizational skills and fine attention to detailWhat’s in it for you?
