Mechanical Engineering Co-Op

If you are an Engineering student looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op (Summer 2025) to join our team in Cranberry Township, PA. In this role, you will be using the latest software and hardware platform including our virtualization, simulation, and remote support technologies to provide customized and efficient solutions to our customers.

Emerson's Power & Water Solutions business unit is an industry-leading controls automation company that focuses on providing applications in the renewable (solar, hydro, wind), fossil (natural gas and coal) power generation, and water treatment plants sectors. We focus on upgrading existing plant control systems with industry-leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote the sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid and wastewater infrastructure.

We will offer you hands-on work experience and on-the-job training supported by senior engineers and mentorship.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Be part of a global, collaborative, and innovative team passionate about solving complex electrical, mechanical, and software problems Learn about automation solutions for our project process and products to meet our customer demands Immediately contribute to application design and engineering execution of projects Provide new and diverse ideas to the engineering and management teams Be given opportunities to build and develop your technical capabilities Have opportunities to work in an office, travel to the field, visit vendors, and/or observe system manufacturing and testing activities Can expect to receive a real-world application of engineering principles balanced with an understanding of customer needs and financial/schedule constraints Be paired with senior engineers to provide you with mentorship and training Collaborate with other co-ops on certain cross-functional projects Complete three on-site rotations as a co-op engineer. Our co-op program runs one semester on, one semester off.

A student excited about being part of an active team of global problem-solvers, all working together to make the world healthier, safer, smarter, and more sustainable.  You are interested in renewable and traditional energy solutions and improving our water treatment processes throughout the world.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical field Enrolled in a formal Co-Op program as part of your bachelor’s degrees curriculum  Ability to work on-site in Cranberry Township, PA Ability to work on customer sites that require physical skills such as lifting and climbing   Travel up to 5% Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position
